A New post on my Sage Woman Blog; Womb of Light. Enjoy!

Spring beckons us to awaken from the sleep of Winter and bring the newness of our being into the cycle of season and growth. The Great Mother pushes us up from Her life giving sanctuary and we stretch and yawn, expand and reach towards a light that sustains the potential of what we may become. And as we reach above, the roots that nourish and anchor reach deeper into Gaia’s form…

Settle deep into
The rich fertile
Soil of my womb…. Read more

Loss

hqdefault

As physical beings, we are subject to the cycle of mortality. We have an allotted amount of time to experience all that a manifest world has in the offering, but we are always subject to the greater laws of life and death. This writing is a call to be fully present in all of life’s gifts;and the one we often choose to numb ourselves to is that of loss.

Loss is an all consuming hunger that is fed by our sorrow and grief. It thirsts for our tears of remembrance and is filled only when we give the most treasured of memories served on our finest china.

This is the season of honoring the ancestors and the memories that bring us pain and joy. Loss knocks heavily now and we must answer the call..

You have become a
Familiar companion
Not one of my choosing
For you are never sought out.

Once before you knocked
On my door seeking refuge
Hungry and needing.

The days stretched on
As you were made guest
In my home but you
Faded into the background
As new life came bursting
In a sorrow-filled space.

You stood at a distance
Looking on and watching as
Life transpired and others
Took you in.

There was still the remnant
Of your having been my guest
A reminder that flooded in
Unannounced and overwhelming
In its need for release.

Your imprint tattooed upon
My heart that was revealed
In my gallery of remembered
Sound or word or thought.

You have come once again
Knocking at my door
But this time you beat
Upon it unrelenting in
Desire to seek entry.

And I knowing the ways of
Life and the promises made
In the gifting of that life I
Am bound to let you in.

I know that you will stay
For as long as is needed
To feed your hunger and
To leave your mark.

I will treat you as my
Most treasured guest
And offer to you the
Sweetest of my memories.

For you and I are now one
We share the secrets of the
Ways of life and the surrender
To death’s call and you will
Leave me for another
When the time is at hand.

Once again your room will
Remain readied awaiting the
Next return.

Your parting gift a profound
Reminder of the fragility and
Beauty of Life’s creations and
The admonition to celebrate that
Life and all who stand within it.

For loss is ever present and
When it knocks upon the peace
Of your home you will always
Let it in.

In Search of the Divine – Part Three
Where Do I Go From Here?
by Robin

” ….we forget that the road less travelled is the one that moves into the space of knowing who and what we are.”

Take a step on the Path
Where do I go from Here?

The road less travelled…
Of course!

Last month, I invited you on a journey back to yourself and the challenge of taking a path that was not the routine. All wound back to the same revelation! The seeking of the Divine is no further away than your own reflection. So, where do you go having arrived at that space of understanding? Is it really that uncomplicated and easy? Is it truly that anti-climatic?

The answer to those questions unfolds in your ability to remain open to the possibilities and to hold a pattern of gratitude for each new bit of information that you uncover. Looking out with the enthusiasm of a child who knows no limitation and believes that he/she can be or do anything. Remember those years? When playing pretend was as real to you as sitting at your work station or driving home from a long work day has become in your current reality. We become dull to the wonder that surrounds us as we settle more deeply, year after year, into our routine. And, in that settling we often miss those precious opportunities to embrace a new way of interacting with the Divine. Read more here…    (scroll down)

New Moon in Leo
4:44p.m. EDT

Sun in Leo

Fire erupts from
Water’s cool embrace.

Flames of liquid light
Reaching out from healing
Chakras centerpoint.

I claim the healing
That flows organically.

I claim the strength
That moves from the Source.

I claim the life that
That pulses with every
Heart’s beat.

I claim the wholeness
That was my birth rite.

I claim the Goddess and
God that create within me.

Let the healing begin
In waters under darkened
Moon’s light.

Breathe in the liquid
Light of rainbow’s hue.

Let is bubble up from you
And let the healing begin
In the flames of Leo’s sun.

The Moon is new today in the astrological sign of Leo. King of the heavens, dynamically charged and demanding attention and recognition. These fires now being applied to the watery nature of a moon that flows with the seeds of catalytic change ripe and ready to re-program them towards the desired goal as the energy builds and gains steam in preparation for the big reveal at the Full Moon on the 18th.

Fire is abundantly represented now, with five of the luminaries wearing the astrological garb of the catalyst:

Sun, Moon and Venus in Leo

Saturn and (at 1:49pm EDT) Mars in Sagittarius

(newly)Retrograde Uranus in Aries

Each of the modalities, or expressions of flow represented:

Cardinal Aries ushering in the seeds of potential and the enthusiastic vision of hope

Fixed Leo standing strong and steady in a blaze of fire that organically transforms and purges what has become dross

Mutable Sagittarius that seeks community and reaches broadly wherever its arrows of active intention set alight a new path

What began as a simple day of the New Moon has now become the recipe for allowing the waters that flame to heal, transform and begin the work of new growth. But, you must be willing to step out of the worry and dread that has permeated much of the worldview lately and set the intention of moving forward, bolstered and prepared for what may still lay ahead. The soothing waters of a correctly heated hot tub soothe achy joint and muscle. And, taking the time to lovingly and purposefully prepare the ambiance of the environment in support of those soothing waters calms the mind and feeds the heart. Settling deeply into the sacred vessel(s); physical body and tub itself- eases the strain of standing and having to fully support the weight accumulated from stress, dis-ease and worry. But, the emergence from this getaway! Ah, that is the sweet spot of choice where you can intentionally arise with renewed hope and energy about how the body can heal and the serenity in outlook. Or, you can arise, distraught that you must leave this sanctuary, dreading the return of ache and stress and undoing all that was released to the healing waters.

This New Moon offers choice at a time when we sorely are in need of feeling empowered, whole and strong. We are not alone in this endeavor. Seek out your family and support systems. Cry, scream, dance, move, write! Let the waters move through you and then allow what does not serve to burn away in the exertion of your will and efforts. We are primed and ready to let the healing begin and the luminaries that move with us are also ready to offer the support and need to navigate this shift in perception.

Wired For Healing Change

Mars (action and assertion) transits into the social sign of fiery Sagittarius, leaving behind the Scorpio’s intensity.  And, retrograde Saturn, the great organizer remains in Sagittarius. Let these fuel your actions towards healing as you reach out (Sagittarius) to those closest to you allowing the structure(Saturn) to steady the arrows of your intention as they fly freely moving through the  inspirational air that feeds those flexible flames. Uranus, the planet of impulse, electrical discharge and master of the neurological system, stationed Retrograde on the 29th of July in another sign of fire, Aries. Gather that electrical impulse(Uranus) that kickstarts the new and direct it towards a change in your response to enthusiastically (Aries) embraces hope.

The Healing Temple

Many years ago I wrote a pathworking entitled the Healing Temple. I have returned to the space I created on many occasions and have shared its construct with others who were in need of claiming their own space of healing and, more importantly, their active role in creating it. On this night of the New Moon I offer this pathworking to you. Fill it with your intentions, desires and needs and then let it expand to encompass all that you interact with. Your energy will change in in so doing, the seeds of hope and renewal will spread, uplifting all….

I just taught a class today at Delmarva Pagan Pride Day entitled: Awakening the Inner Sun-The Fires of Will. I have worked with solar energy for many years and what I love about this energy is the metamorphic change that occurs at all levels. The physical Sun provides heat, generates nutrients in the body and strengthens. The Spiritual Sun enlivens us and fills us with purpose and action that is bolstered by a continually renewable source. The Midnight Sun catalyzes us onto the mystery of our earth’s core and the knowledge that although we may move in the darkness of night, the Sun continues to shine in the opposite hemisphere.

I offer this week 2 excerpts relating to the Solar Energy that flows in and around us. One is a poem I wrote some years ago and the other an excerpt from my book, A Weekly Reflection: Musings on the Year. Enjoy!

Awakening

The heat moves through me
Calling me to flow along
Its path of blazing light.

I call to the ashes that
The Phoenix may rise up
Within me to break free
Of what has held me inert.

Wings beat furiously and
Strain with expansion upwards
Quickening the spark of flame.

Blinding light flashes
And I move through
The flaming center
Of the sun.

My Soul awakening in
The black iciness of
Enlightened Will.

WEEK 28: The Solar Connection

Sitting-in-the-sun

We feel the power of the sun’s energy upon us both daily and throughout the year. If we consider not only the physical considerations of the Sun as the central planet of our solar system, but also look from a magickal and metaphysical perspective the attributes that we associate with solar energy are all pervasive in our daily experience.

The Sun is connected to the chakra (energetic center) which is located centrally within our body, the solar plexus. It is from this point that we generate and release energy. It is from this central location that when we are engaged in spiritual practice that we feel the beginning stirrings of the rise of that energy. This is the place of energetic awakening and return.

You could think of the solar plexus as being the sustainer (of aroused energy), the life and light bearer (energy produces light and a new state of being) and that which warms (energy produces heat) and promotes growth (energy moves us from one state of being to an expanded and enhanced state of awareness).

Spend some time this week out in the sunlight. Visualize the sun enlivening the spark of sun within you.

Incense wafts in the air etching
Spirals of fragrant peace.

Eyes of light open releasing healing
Compassion and quiet sanctuary.

Hands open in welcome and calmness
Flows from each finger soothing me.

Beauty and grace fill my sight and I
Am strong in the harmony of self.

All is quiet
All is gentle
All is imbued with a
Love that is unconditional
And knows no bounds.

The Goddess smiles and the world
Stills its arcane chatter and begins the
Dialogue of Divine serenity.

The Goddess Kuan Yin is one I turn to when I am most in need of finding the stillness and space of peace within myself. She is the Bodhisattva of Compassion and Mercy. Her nature is one of forgiveness and the serenity that is found, most especially, in forgiveness of self is profound.

May her peace fill you with the knowledge that you are loved unconditionally by the Divine.

CAM01256

This week’s writing prompt on The Pagan Experience was a call to share a favorite invocation or devotional to Deity. I have chosen the poem below. This was written many years ago as I worked to know more deeply the nature of the Goddess as one who remained always beside me, sharing and guiding my mundane life’s experiences. I envisioned Her as a dear and treasured friend who knew me as no other and with whom I could simply “be”.

And, because of this intimate connection and bond forged, I am ever mindful that She stands with me as support, ally and trusted friend.

Come walk with me and
Share my grand adventure
Our steps will mark the way
For those who wish to follow.

Come sit with me and quench
Your thirst with the beauty of
What surrounds us.

Come dance with me on the
Shores of crystal blue waters
The sun looking down in
Benevolence as we embrace
Beneath the warming rays.

Come lay beside me as
Time and dreamscape
Claim their hold.

Come sleep with me and
Let Divine ecstasy unfold
Dreams in the knowledge of me.

Come hold me and tell
Me of your dreams that
Stretched long into the night.

Come walk with me as we
Talk of what was revealed.

The land gives way and
Miles of space lay ahead
Beckoning new turns with
Each new dreamtime path.

Come explore with me the
Truth of your journey and
The gift of mystery in this life.

Come walk with me and
Share my grand adventure
Our Light will mark the way
For those who wish to follow.
