I reach deep into the loamy earth. Instinct and anchoring flow through my roots and the seeding of what I will become remains as the echo of its first planting.

I stretch and reach, extending deeper and climbing upwards. Fertile earth the home of my making and the lights of the Fae guide my growth. Nurturing, gentle and insistent on my survival. I pause in the veiling of what lay below of ground and small life and what aspirations await as I reach steadily upward towards the sun and star-filled above.

Nutrients flow and the blueprint of what I can become is clear and strong. The desire for air and breath and rain and moisture are balanced betwixt and between. Each moving…

Full Moon in Taurus
12:45p.m. (EDT)

Todays Full Moon is called the Hunter’s Moon and marks the second of the Fall Full Moons; September’s Harvest Moon being the first. Lady Moon waxes Full in the astrological Fixed and Earthy sign of Taurus, the Bull. I’ve written much about this astrological energy and although, I don’t normally use the “names” given to the moons, in this case it felt natural to use that as the focus for exploring the potential of this energy.

I just finished teaching a series of classes entitled Ma’at and Order in the Chaos. The focus was on use of the Hermetic Principles (aka: Universal Laws) that provide the template for creation’s action and the need for the balance of chaos and order for the cycles of existence to continue. We talked about having intentional transparency in working with these principles…

Down into the belly of the earth I seek myself. My blood warm and pulsing, flowing like sap in the veins of a tree that has seen time through the eyes of the season. I breathe and leaves billow out from limbs long and lanky. I breathe and ripples run through the sweet smelling…

The Month of October 

This month is a special Editor’s Edition. Our regular contributors and columnists are taking a much needed break to renew and refresh for the upcoming months. The weather has a distinct chill in the air and thoughts of settling in at home after a long day at work are on the radar. Not too far away will also be the start of the holiday season and the business of preparation and enjoying time with friends and family will consume the Winter’s bleakness. So, this is precisely the month to take it easy and lighten the load.

I’ve selected a few favorites and a few new selections for a quick read. Next month we will explore more of the Harvest and deepening the reflective heart. Enjoy!
