One week out…

Magickally Human

Life sucks!
My life is so boring!
Nothing ever turns out the way I want!

Wait, just breathe and take a look around.
Have I tried to be present in the moment?
Have I tried something new?
Do I really know what I want?

Everything I try fails!
No one really cares about me!
And, I don’t care about anyone!

Maybe I should put your energy into what I am passionate about.
Do I care about myself?
Not caring about anyone, means that I do care about someone.

Every day is just as pointless as the next!
If only!
If only!
If only!
Why should I be grateful?

Everyday Iwake up is a gift !
“If only” will never come. But, “Now I can” is always an option.
If I do!
If I can!
If I see!

Why should I be grateful?

The more I offer appreciation for whatever I…

Order, Justice and Peace Shall Rule

I’ve chosen this month of elections, Thanksgiving and change of the seasons to share this article that was written in 2012 and part of an anthology. Order and justice are being tested continually and the peace that we desire is elusive as we move through the eternal cycles of change and time’s demands. The Horae are reminders that we are part of a larger cycle of Cosmic order….

In Greek Mythology the classification of Goddesses known as the Horae composed two basic components of cyclic action. This name given of “Horae” was used to describe several goddesses whose primary function was order, balance and justice from the aspect of nature to the larger demands of Cosmic events. The earliest writing about the Horae is attribute to Homer’s Iliad as custodians of the gates of Olympus. These were the daughters of Mighty Zeus and the Titaness, Themis, Goddess of Divine Order. Early worship in Athens separated the six dominant Horae into two triads that in combination attended to the order of society from cosmic affairs to the human needs. Read more here…

Hecate’s Call
The Silence of the Crone

Waning Moon in Astrological Cancer

Today is the last post of this series, 30 Days of Samhain and with this ending we are ready to meet the Crone, Hecate at the final crossroads. The Moon is waning towards the fourth quarter darkness and today is in the astrological sign of Cancer, ruled by the Moon. This is a catalytic water sign that stirs the emotions as the first drops of water/emotions bubble to the surface.

I wait for you at the
Dark waning of the Moon.

I wait at the crossroads
And, my silence reaches
Out to draw you back to me.

I have called to you as
The Maiden who knows
The power of her desire.

I have held out loving arms
To enfold you as only a
Mother can do to comfort
The child that has strayed.

And, now I wait…

Counting down to our last day, tomorrow!

A Witch's Sacred Journey

Memories

Memories grow from the
Seeds that have been
From a heart filled
With experience.

Memories flow like water
Caressing new growth in
A vessel of flesh and bone
Breathing slowly towards the sun.

Memories stretch and reach
From a pillar of mind and
Heart having become one
In a memory’s making.

Memories grow strong and beautiful
Trees of past and future rising
From the pages of each present
Day’s journaling of the Soul.

These 30 days have been filled with memories. Memories of loved ones no longer in this physical plane. Memories of Samhain celebrations long past. Memories of what called you to this path to begin with. Newly made memories of this year’s promises and inspirations. And, memories of the daily reminder that you are truly Divine in all of your parts.

Tomorrow is our final post:
Hecate’s Call-The Silence of the Crone
The final Meeting at the…

A Witch's Sacred Journey

A Celebration of Astrological Samhain

Last night our coven offered our annual open ritual in celebration of astrological Samhain. We journeyed into the otherworld leaving the light behind and saw the reflection of our true self as the Mirror Wraith awakened. Offerings were given to Cerridwen’s Crow and once prepared, each sought the counsel of Cerridwen, herself. HER Cauldron of Wisdom was opened and time was spent with a chosen beloved and token of their blessing gifted from the Cauldron. We returned to the world of the Living and Light forever transformed.

This ritual was written several years ago and offers another aspect to how Samhain may be celebrated. We use the Goddess, Cerridwen and the myth of Her cauldron of wisdom to journey to pass through the veils and journey to the otherworld seeking wisdom, healing and transformation.

In this ritual we add the energies of the Mirror Wraith and…

A Witch's Sacred Journey

Today’s post is the second of three aligned with the Full Moon of today, and the dark moon upcoming. I talked of the Goddess, Hecate’s energy during this season and these three posts offer a meeting at the crossroads with each of her selves and we have already met her as the Maiden at the New Moon on October 19th. Today, we call to the Mother….

November 4.2017
Full Moon in Taurus
1:23a.m. (EDT)

I call to you at the
Fullness of the Moon.
You who are my child
Of great promise.

I, alone, wait at the moonlit
Crossroads as only a
Mother will do for
Her wayward child.

I stand ready to defend and to
Teach but you must reach out
In embrace of my stern ways.

I wait and there is only the
Flow of my tears that you
Have not yet found your way
Back to Me.

Reaching Back to Stand Fully Present in the Future

We’ve past the usually celebrated marker of Samhain on October 31st. and in these last few days of this series we are reaching towards the astrological date of Samhain on November 6th -12:25a.m. Nov. 7th.

On the Witch’s Wheel of the Year, the quarter Sabbats are marked by the dates of the Equinoxes and Solstices. These are the fixed astronomical dates and on the dates at the mid-point between each Equinox to Solstice, Solstice to Equinox the cross-quarter Sabbats of Samhain-Imbolc-Beltane and Lammas are celebrated. As it sounds, the true date of these events is the calculation of exact mid-point of days between those quarter dates.

In the case of Samhain and Beltane, what we call “the veils” between the worlds parting moves up and through these astro(nom)logical dates. So, today I would like to offer a perspective of using the…

The Celebrations of Dia de los Muertes!

A Witch's Sacred Journey

Dia de los Muertos
November 1 – November 2.2017

Today’s post is about a very special celebration of the Dead, Dia de los Muertos. As a culture, we tend to have a very somber and to some degree separated view of death. OF course there is sadness in the loss of a loved one and grief can be overwhelming; but celebrating as an act of joy and reverence honoring that death is another phase in a continuing cycle of life can heal in a way that truly integrates the life that was lived and the life that is left in legacy that is being lived. And, Dia de los Muertes does that and more….

At midnight on Nov. 1, Dia…

30 Days of Samhain: Day Twenty-Four

A Witch's Sacred Journey

How I Spent My Samhain

Last night I was honored to lead a ritual of experience and opportunity to commune with those beloveds who have crossed the veil. Our coven traditionally celebrates Samhain on its astrological date as an annular open event. This year my plan was to offer another, very different ritual (from the usual), since October 31st fell on a regular class night. What evolved, was a ritual entitled “Parting the Veils: Calling to the Ancestors”.

The ritual used a complex system of castings as overlays and stabilizers for a central space of using a mirror as the portal between the worlds; candles to light the way and an offering of rum. Guests entered a room of darkness and candle light and stood in anticipation as sacred space was created. I called to the Air of mind that was receptive and fertile ground for inspiration and the Fires…
