Wow! Lots going on and lots to talk about! This early morning Full Moon bathes in the energy of astrological Gemini, the quintessential archetypal energy of communication and mental agility. Father Sun has transited into the solar month of astrological Sagittarius, the direct opposite (on the zodiacal wheel) as usual of Mother Moon’s flowing waters of lunation. In this case, astrological Sagittarius fires up the solar energies and begins the process of sending out those electromagnetic bursts (think Sagittarian arrows) seeking collaboration, community and networks. Both Moon and Sun are in signs of the Mutable Modality which gives the necessary ebb and flow required of outreach that is potent and active inits intention(Sun in Sagittarius) and the rising waters  that adapt and change (Moon in Gemini)…

Dusk is calling
Time to settle in
Time to settle down
Time to go home.

Night is coming
Fading light
As I drive away.

They look so soft
They are so inviting
They remind me of
What is to come
Later.

Fluffed up and
Spaced just so
Placed just right.

I look out from the

Almost home

Today is astrological Samhain and boasts a New Moon in mystical Scorpio. What an auspicious event! What a power-filled day!

Samhain celebrates the parting of the veils and opportunity to reach into the world of the Ancestors as we seek their wisdom, blessings and more. Astrological Scorpio enables dipping into a watery well of mysticism, intuition and transformation. The New Moon provides a quickening that catalyzes all that stands as opportunity for rebirth, emergence from the source of its creation and seeding towards the future.

I love the dynamics of this New Moon/Samhain combo! And, I am choosing to dive deeply into those fixed dark waters of Scorpio. Scorpio is the only astrological sign that boasts three (3) levels of expression- the scorpion-the eagle and the Phoenix.

A Pathworking of Creation

These past several days we have immersed ourselves in the realms of death and the Ancestors. Now, on Samhain’s eve I would like to share a recorded pathworking of creation. Life flows in its eternal cycle of creation and destruction.

Breathe in the dark
Rest in the stillness
Regenerate and renew
Scattered and supple

I breathe in the dark
I rest in the deathly stillness
I will regenerate as I renew in form
No longer scattered
I move in supple surrender
To Death’s birthing of Creation

Musings From the Mystic Path

The Month of November

November is one of my favorite months; holding the mystery of betwixt and between. Fall and the final harvest signal a time of reflection and preparation for the wintry months ahead. As we settle in to an earlier start to the ending of the day’s activities, the potential is there to look more deeply, be more fully present and bring all of these experiences in for a closer look.

November aligns with the daily cycle of Dusk and in life cycles, the energy and wisdom of the Crone and the Sage. To kick off our featured sections this month, we have two articles from each of those perspectives. Our columns are back this month and we have a special Fall recipe of crockpot candied Yams. Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving and time with friends and family.

Falling Back to Reach Forward

Daylight savings time ended this morning! And, as reminder in resetting the clocks-“Fall Back (Spring Forward)”. I chose to write this as a bonus post because this Samhain-tide season takes its comfort in the darkness, and the end of daylight savings time, means the return to a blanket of early evening sunset and settling into a nightscape that can be as illuminated as candle or lamp provide.

So, I’m using the Fall Back catchphrase to stimulate the focus back into seeking our ancestor connection to provide the perspectives that carry us forward into what lay ahead. This time change that aligns us with the natural circadian cycle that we use as biological linear time pulls us back into the flow of seeking the light(s) within (indoors) as the cooler weather and early darkness provide the space for reflection and introspection.
