A New post on my Sage Woman Blog; Womb of Light. Enjoy!

Spring beckons us to awaken from the sleep of Winter and bring the newness of our being into the cycle of season and growth. The Great Mother pushes us up from Her life giving sanctuary and we stretch and yawn, expand and reach towards a light that sustains the potential of what we may become. And as we reach above, the roots that nourish and anchor reach deeper into Gaia’s form…

Settle deep into
The rich fertile
Soil of my womb…. Read more

Click Here: Lighting the Torch! All Hail, Columbia!

Please enjoy a special ritual pathworking honoring the Goddess of Liberty, Columbia. The actual ritual will be held on January 29th and was written to empower us in the wisdom of the Goddess, our Ancestors who met the challenges of liberty and the vision of our Forefathers of equality and justice. Enjoy!

“I leave you, hoping that the lamp of liberty will burn in your bosoms
until there shall no longer be a doubt that all men are created free and equal.”

An excerpt from the companion post on Tarot for Troubling Times. Strength, Lust and Justice are envisioned in the Toth Tarot…

Toth Key XI – Strength/Lust

Lose yourself in loosening the reins of weakness
Use your power to affect change
See the full vision of many paths and many ways of being
Trust in your instincts as….
                             The Strength Within You Grows

Wait, what? Why are the Strength and Justice Keys reversed in Rider-Waite vs. Toth? These are the numbers:

Rider-Waite: Key VIII – Strength
Toth: Key VIII – Adjustment/Justice

Rider-Waite: Key XI – Justice Rider-Waite
Toth: Key XI – Strength/Lust

The sweet irony of this draw is…

Strength and Justice make wonderful bedfellows. What we lust after is fueled by action, desire and determination. Strength benefits from these attributes when they are in balance – the necessary component to ensure that Justice is exactly that.  Read Full Post…

This year I am using the wisdom of the Major Arcana to offer inspiration and perspective to what will most probably be a challenging year at all levels. Please enjoy the excerpt below from my new blog..

Tarot for Troubling Times

slide21First card drawn- Strength!

….What is the theme for this year?

Every year on January 1st, I draw a card from the Major Arcana selection to ask the question that will set the tone for your year. Woke up this morning and sat quietly thinking what that question should be to begin this year’s work. So many things in flux this year and so much work needed, both on myself and within the larger community.

And, so I settled into the question of what the theme of the year would be. Shuffle the cards, deep breath, reach out with anticipation and draw from the pile. I hold the card face away just for a moment and then turn it over….

Tarot Key VIII – Strength…. Yep, that’s about right. Strength is exactly what will be needed to navigate this new year.

Solid foundations must be crafted upon which to stand;
Trust in the process, resolve is at hand;
Rise above limitation and learn from your peers;
Empower yourself with wisdom honed from your fears;
Notice the strides that have been taken and make note of missteps;
Gather to you all your courage and worry not about safety nets;
The answers that you seek are those that you already know;
Honor what you have created and stand in truth as……
The Strength within you grows.

In Search of the Divine – Part Three
Where Do I Go From Here?
by Robin

” ….we forget that the road less travelled is the one that moves into the space of knowing who and what we are.”

Take a step on the Path
Where do I go from Here?

The road less travelled…
Of course!

Last month, I invited you on a journey back to yourself and the challenge of taking a path that was not the routine. All wound back to the same revelation! The seeking of the Divine is no further away than your own reflection. So, where do you go having arrived at that space of understanding? Is it really that uncomplicated and easy? Is it truly that anti-climatic?

The answer to those questions unfolds in your ability to remain open to the possibilities and to hold a pattern of gratitude for each new bit of information that you uncover. Looking out with the enthusiasm of a child who knows no limitation and believes that he/she can be or do anything. Remember those years? When playing pretend was as real to you as sitting at your work station or driving home from a long work day has become in your current reality. We become dull to the wonder that surrounds us as we settle more deeply, year after year, into our routine. And, in that settling we often miss those precious opportunities to embrace a new way of interacting with the Divine. Read more here…    (scroll down)

If you breathe deeply
You can smell the
Damp soil holding
The seeds of new life.

If you breathe deeply
The subtle fragrance
And the promise of
Flowering fields
Fills the senses.

If you breathe deeply
Taking in the energy
Of potent and fertile
Space you can feel
What is awaiting the
Awakening.

If you breathe deeply
You will see the power
Of what is exhaled out
From the Maiden’s breath
Of promise and light
Is the template of form
For what will be
The act of creation.

Didn’t think I would be able to finish this book in time. But…… I am pleased to announce my newest book just in time for Sacred Space and other conferences this year!

Temple of the Sun and Moon is a book of pathworkings, poetry, prose and theory with focus on the luminaries of the Sun and Moon and devotional writings to deepen the reader’s connection to their gifts. Enjoy this excerpt from the book’s Introduction:

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Temple of the Sun and Moon. You hold in your hands a unique and very personal book. Many of the lessons I have returned to throughout my years as both a teacher and seeker of occult wisdom were those that stood right in front of me. They were not the imagined hidden stores that I had to procure exactly the right key to gain access to. Rather, they were part of the most mundane of my activities and had travelled with me throughout the cycles of days, seasons and years. I had but to look upwards and see the beauty of the Sun and the Moon reflective and radiant in their downpour.

The most profound of these lessons was found in connecting more fully to the Sun and the Moon as part of my daily devotional practice. This connection reached deeper than my usual honoring of them as luminaries of spiritual and magickal expression. To enter into a more complete relationship with them, I had to also come to know the greater potential that lay within each dawn or new moon. As I began to reveal these deeper meanings, an intricate webbing of inter-connectedness became my own unique tapestry. Each space of devotion and acknowledgement of my connection to the dynamic energy of the Solar and the flowing movement of the Lunar produced another thread of weaving, changing this luminous tapestry in response to the changes within myself.

What I Have Chosen to Include:

As I sat down to write this book it was apparent that there were many approaches I could take to this vast topic of the Sun and Moon. At first glance it may be assumed that this is a book about astrology and although that discipline weighs heavily into the work of the Sun and the Moon I want to show you something more.

Part One begins with a simple pathworking of reminder about our home in this greater Cosmos. This lifetime’s experience is played out on Earth and we are the recipients of all that is physical and manifest that comprises that human existence on this very much alive planet. As you progress through the book you may wish to return to this section and see how your thoughts about what your true connection to this planet is after spending some time in the Temple of the Sun and Moon.

Parts Two and Four explore the energy of the Sun and Moon in their physical and spiritual forms. These writings include pathworkings and experiential practices using the assigned alchemical elements for each, their specific phases and cycles, flow of their energies through our subtle anatomy and more.

Parts Three and Five are poetic and prose renditions of devotionals that arose from experience, ritual, meditation and communion with the Sun and the Moon. These are the writings that were gifted as I sat in the Temple of these luminaries and surrendered to the wisdom they offered.

An additional perspective I’ve included is the Qabalistic attributions of the Sun and the Moon on the Hermetic Tree of Life. This may appear to be a random inclusion and not really relevant when taken out of context from a very complex system. But, what often appears to be random is precisely the bridge needed to get from one body of knowledge to another. Once you stand at that mid-point of crossing, a panoramic view opens before you, allowing more to be seen and more to be appreciated. The randomness now has become the intentional new path to be explored. To assist in the understanding of these correlates I’ve included in Appendix One an overview of the Qabalah that will give just enough information for you to draw the necessary conclusions.

How to Use This Book:

You will find some theory, but only just enough to whet your appetite for finding what will feed our hunger for more. Most of what is contained, however, is words that will stimulate your creative nature. The combination of prose, poetry and pathworking is a style I have been using for quite some time. And, has been successful in creating a richer, more sensorial experience in working through any information provided. As you read through the various sections, explore the feelings and imagery that arises. Breathe into the space of what is between the words and hold the intention that this is as much a journey into the mind as one of strengthened will and emotional flexibility. Most importantly, be open to the possibilities of seeing the Sun and the Moon in a new light of understanding.

Luna looks down
And the spell is cast.

Father Sun fuels the intent
And sustains the
Creative flow.

Weave Your Magick of Light

Build your Temple of Quickening Flame
That strengthens
A call to informed Will
Forged on the anvil
Of
Spirit’s heated intent.

Dream your Temple of Waters
That ebb and flow
As the tides reach towards
The rocky shores
Of
Soul’s return.

For you are the blessed child
Of
Sun and Moon
And hold the gifts of
Their kingship.

And the heavens offer up
Devotion to your birthright
And await your
Gentle hand of creation.
