The celestial ballet that has been calling us to take notice has been intense and beautiful in the  patterns and partnerships that have been cosmically choreographed. Each planetary dancer moving in rhythm and grace as the light is eclipsed for a time in the dreamy shadows of Moon, Sun and Earth and give way to the burgeoning of a spotlight of intensity reflecting like the multi-faceted and colored gels of lighting that sets the tone and mood for what is occurring beneath on the stage of Earth.

Just because today is a new Moon in Gemini, an astrological sign where words get tangled in the web of communication and expression, I am sharing a writing about something that I keep returning to, unsettled and anxious about the reply….

…..Where Are You Going?

Such a simple question for an answer that is deep and complex. If you’d asked me that question last year I would have said, “I’m moving forward. I’m making progress in my endeavors and I am spending my time and energy wisely.” Very articulate statement and optimistic answer. Seems to be a straightforward and simple answer, but nothing could be further from the complexity of truth.

If you’d asked me the same question three months ago, I would have paused in my response, turning my thoughts to what I had perceived as growth and progress as I weighed and measured the validity of those statements made prior. Internally, I would allow space to think more deeply on the intricacies of the question. Let me chew and digest each word so that I can extract every bit of vital essence held in each letter of each word.

Where are you going?…. Take a breath, sit comfortably and let’s chow down…

Where is a marker of time and place; a location, or perhaps a destination. The mystery of where is all wrapped up in perception and identification. Where is neither past nor present and by default the future of a where is aptly determined by what has been experienced within the gift of spaciousness.

Are stimulates the knowledge and subtle awareness of existence. But, what state that existence resides within and what layer of consciousness awakens within that state of being is fulfilled by the ability to fully embody our presence in all of the worlds and all of the forms we move fluidly within. From this state of are the immanence of our Spirit evolves as co-creator.

You is such a recognizable word, defined by the recipient of its identification. You is filled with potential, but the limitation of that potential is in how closely we identify the you that takes on every form and attribution imaginable. Keyword – imagine – aka. envision. The power of vision is indisputable and the power of creative change is tightly interwoven into you. It begs to answer the questions……

Who are you?
What are you?
What more can you become?

Defining you is a labyrinth, a maze that you spend lifetimes analyzing and refining, all directed by the nuances of our perception at any given moment.

And, finally the goal of inquiry – Going – the punctuated ending of a question that in its simplicity unravels the threads of a tapestry that forms a piece of our over arching life story.

Going implies movement, towards or from a destination that becomes a “where”. What form does that movement take? Spinning wheels stuck in mud are movement, yet they remain for a time, within a perceived singular location of limitation. Going gives range and depth and a necessary spatial awareness of hope for what could be. Always a diversion from what is; the desire compelling “you” forward-backward-all ways and the intended goal digressing into and by necessity from the desperation felt- “anywhere, but here”.

So, today with the Moon waxing New in the inquisitive and talkative sign of Gemini, I ask myself…

Where Am I Going?

The answer is relatively simple…

I am going deeper into the moment, as I Am and without expectation!

We are in the midst of our Temple of the Sun Series this year! Thought I would share a live recording of the movement meditation from yesterday’s class:

Solar Magick: Journey of the Solar Barque-Noon

This series of classes uses the metaphor of the Solar Barque as overlay for our spiritual and mundane growth. Enjoy!

Into the Sun is a live recording extracted from the Solar Magick: Journey of the Solar Barque workshop #4. This guided movement meditation carries the participant on an exploration of transformation as you run, soar and become the Solar Light of the Egyptian God, Amun-RA at Noon.

Thought this would be a nice “warm” reading since we have been caught in the Wintry Embrace of Mother Nature…. Enjoy

WK. 35 : DIVINE FIRE WITHIN

We know the power and potency of Fire for healing, transformation, quickening and renewal. We are familiar with the physical flame and strive towards keeping the Inner Flame of the Divine burning brightly. We are aware of the Fires that move through the earth. Heating, shifting and erupting when under pressure as Gaia sheds her skin, bleeds and prepares a space of fertility to emerge.

Now think on the fluid motion of the Sun. Its solar flares ripple out into the Cosmos, shaping, molding and carving new traces of energetic trail. Each trail reaching out in fluidity and grace beyond its undulating surface of heat.

Within the Earth’s core, molten fires shape and reshape what eventually emerges as surface change on Earth. This core of fire transforms and is the life’s blood of Gaia. Fire is the quickening that spawns new life. Fire burns away what does not serve and is not selective in its renewing destruction once the flames have begun. Allowing these fires of the Divine flame to rise within is a call to shed and release. To burn to ash and render down what can arise as the Phoenix.

There are times when Fire’s eruptions should be allowed to reshape us. This is not comfortable and may even feel as though for that space of time we are out of control and unstable. But, from the chaos of disruption comes a new status quo of respect for the power that we hold.

For this week:

Give consideration to what you wish to feed to the fires of growth.

What is it that you need to relinquish to birth something new in the quickening womb of your own molten core?

What needs disruption?
What will be cast into the darkness?
How will you control the uncontrollable?

This past year has been filled with change and adjustment to those changes that were not in my control. I would like to think that I have been resilient through these changes, but I realize that I most probably was more resistant than I should have been. And, so now I sit here on New Year’s Eve and am contemplating how to move out of that resistance.

The usual prescription that many and I have followed is formulating resolutions for the upcoming year. And, although this resolve seems empowering, for me, this year it feels more like promises that will not be kept and the added pressure of having to achieve.

Dutifully, I order my astrological report(s) for the upcoming year, vowing to plot out every nuance of the year in transits and time. And, again best laid plans are created to be more attentive and present in “scripting” my year. This year, life took hold and those reports have not been ordered and most likely will not. Best intentions fade a few months in and these carefully compiled binders are impressive on my shelf but of no value if not used.

My mother always drew 3 runes on New Year’s day for the coming year. This is a practice that I often engaged in with her since she would spend the day with us and now with her passing, the copies she made of the rune meanings and dated for each year are something I cannot yet part with; although a practice I myself will not continue now that she is gone.

My style has normally been to do a Tarot reading for the upcoming year. Part of this exercise and experience for me is in the creation of a new spread each year. The tactile and intellectual engagement opens the proper pathways for me to receive what is needed. This I will most likely hold on to as tradition.

This year I keep coming back to the question of “where do I go from here?” What do I really want to bring from my lessons of this past year into the next?More importantly, where do I want to spend my energy as this year moves forward; each year seeming to quicken its pace?

I think that this year, I will make a bigger change. Something that takes me out of my comfort zone of control, scripting and insane expectations. This year I am going to allow myself to be surprised by the potential of what can be. This year I am going to have goals but allow those goals to move with flexibility and course correct as needed. This year I am going to allow my roots to reach deeper which will allow me to reach higher.

These may sound like resolutions, but the difference is that this year I think I’ve surrendered to not knowing where I go from here…. Blessings on your own journey…. Robin

Order, Justice and Peace Shall Rule

I’ve chosen this month of elections, Thanksgiving and change of the seasons to share this article that was written in 2012 and part of an anthology. Order and justice are being tested continually and the peace that we desire is elusive as we move through the eternal cycles of change and time’s demands. The Horae are reminders that we are part of a larger cycle of Cosmic order….

In Greek Mythology the classification of Goddesses known as the Horae composed two basic components of cyclic action. This name given of “Horae” was used to describe several goddesses whose primary function was order, balance and justice from the aspect of nature to the larger demands of Cosmic events. The earliest writing about the Horae is attribute to Homer’s Iliad as custodians of the gates of Olympus. These were the daughters of Mighty Zeus and the Titaness, Themis, Goddess of Divine Order. Early worship in Athens separated the six dominant Horae into two triads that in combination attended to the order of society from cosmic affairs to the human needs. Read more here…
