Synergize
by MQ

Collaboration, fusion? Harmonize? Synergize?
That’s my word…… Synergize!

I love it!
I love the blending, the merging, the creativity.

Synergize is my word.

It’s also my work.
To balance my life.
My relationships, my learning, my mundane errands,
My job, my body, my devotion, myself.

Me.

Everything is changed…
I am thirsty, determined, scared, preoccupied,
Wrong, inspired, amazed, apprehensive, uncomfortable, in love.

I love seeing & hearing new things.
I love feeling energy & learning about it.
I love that my family have insane crazy magical stories that they do
not know are magical.

I love that some friends are now buying crystals, doing yoga & going to psychics.

I love learning about the deities.
I love the discoveries.
I love all of my blessings, and so
I must continue the work.

Express gratitude, pay it forward, and set a good example.
I must continue my journey of magic & mundane, of experience & expression, of faith and balance.

I must Synergize!

Moon lights on night snow.
Lightning bugs flit twilight fields.
Sun glitters off wave.
Bugs flit twilight fields.

I Am…
by MH

I am Air,Fire,Water,Earth!

Coffee percolating in the pre-dawn hours, aromatic
Distant familiar voices carried on a gentle breeze.

A blue heron rises over Core Creek;
Its long legs tucked back, slow wing beats
A beautiful sight.

Marshmallows roasting over a crackling fire,
Orange hot embers fly upwards into the dark night sky.

Radiant sunshine cascading down on the pristine
And tranquil surface of Lake Crescent.

Thunderous roar of the Horseshoe Falls,crashing into the rocks;
Thick white mist shrouds the tour boat as it glides on the water.

Humid, dense tropical foliage with varying hues of green in
El Yunque Rainforest as the jeep travels along the road and
Green tree frogs calling unseen in the fog.

Black flat compressed rock surfaces, majestic peaks stretching in the sky
Altitude increases pressure changes as the train twists and snakes through the Alps.

A single doe walks along a path near the tourist center, watching and
Behind her the snow capped glaciers of the Olympia Mountains at Hurricane Ridge.

I am Air,Fire,Water,Earth!

Ebb and Flow
by Iolanthe

I had an assignment—think about my body in motion, the response and reaction of my body as it moves through energy fields. How do I feel before moving? After moving? I went out to sit on a balcony in a hotel room from which I had a view of the ocean to think and write. I thought, and wrote about movement, dance, stillness, energy displaced, energy raised, energy dispersed, exertion, breath… and I felt complete. I stopped writing and looked out over the ocean.

I remembered that there were whales and dolphins and crabs and flounder and unnamed quantities of varieties of animal life that moved through the ocean waters. And the sea weed and kelp undulated in the currents, as do the corals. Sea slugs. Octopus. Plankton. Clams. Oysters. Whelks. I could hardly imagine how many types of life forms lived on, under, or near the sea.

Then I noticed the waves coming in, constantly reaching for the shore, receding, trying again, still not yet reaching the high water mark, try again, and the swells started farther out onto the horizon as I watched. Pulled by gravity of the earth and of the moon, winds, heat or coldness from thousands of miles away.

Then I noticed the birds – pelicans skimming the water, cormorants ducking under and then bobbing back up, gulls and terns gliding, and an osprey fishing. Never sitting still.
There were layers of movement for me to notice, if I would just take the time to do so. I went and put my toes in the ocean and the tiny wavelet curled around my toes—my presence had changed the flow of the tide in a miniscule, yet measurable, way. I had entered the stream of the ocean’s movement, and had then changed it, as it had changed me. I felt the pull of the current and the coldness of the water. I stepped back.

I had moved from contemplating my own body’s motion, to noticing layers of motion surrounding me, to remembering that I am part of the web of all that is. As above, so below. As within, so without.

Beltane
by Robin

2lv07bk

May 1st is the traditional day of celebration of the Sabbat, Beltane. You may recognize the day as “May Day”, bedecked with a Maypole and colored ribbons, woven tightly round as dancers weave their symbolic and sacred union of masculine and feminine, God and Goddess, Youth and Maiden. This is thought to be one of two auspicious points in the year when the “veils” between the worlds thin and we have greater access to the spirit world and other realms. Samhain, or Day of the Dead in October is noted for these thinning veils to be conducive to contact with the departed dead;our ancestors and our loved ones. this ties in well with the seasonal change of harvest, preparation for winter and vegetation withering and dying off. Now, at May we have the promise of warmer weather and the bursting forth of life that heralds the Summer Solstice when the natural world is on full bloom.

In keeping with the energies of union and the planting of seeds of new life, I have always thought of this thinning as a time of welcoming the soon to be life that will be brought into human, nature and other form in the months ahead. Just another perspective! Enjoy the writing below, breathe in the life that is all around you and revel in the promise of new creation….

Beltane-The Lover’s Flame

Flames rise higher
As desire pours
From lover’s intent.

Flames glow in the darkness
Lighting the path to
Be followed in blissful
Surrender to Lover’s touch.

Flames rise and fall and
Two merge seeming inseparable
As flesh moves against
Flesh in abandon and trust.

Flames consume the desire
That is fed and burn hotter
In passion’s final outpour.

Flames move now as one
Singular fusion of life
Burning strong and full
Sated from breath that
Expands and contracts
As longing is fulfilled.

The Flame scatters as seeds
Of quickened potential
Fill the ripened womb of
Creation’s sacred vessel.

The time will be soon
And the first cries of
New Life will pierce
The silence as the
Flames of creation
Rise in acknowledgement
Of their completed work.

The air is warm and sweet. Life is budding all around and May flowers stretch across a field of freshly paint greenery, the faint scent of their perfume on gentle warm breeze. My heart beats rapidly in anticipation and I look out over sunlight space seeking your face. A stream of electrified energy moves up my spine awakening all of my senses as I feel the heat of your breath at the back of my neck. I turn to face you and two small suns flash with desire from the depths of eyes that have lovingly gazed upon my face in seasons past. Breath hangs in the air suspended in timelessness as I, the Maiden, reach out to you, my consort. Earth and Sun sigh into the release of consummate union and passion’s light burns with heat and intensity, as each lover’s flame becomes the singular flame that fuels the passion of Beltane.

As the Wheel continues its cycle of light we turn our focus towards stimulating the dynamics of creation within. At the time of the Vernal Equinox we did the work of seeking balance and honoring the pause of that space strengthening an awareness illuminated by the potential that is held within the fertile space of manifest form. We found this space of balance within ourselves and opened in receipt of taking in more of the light continues to expand as it surrounds us outwardly. This opening to receiving the downpour of the light of growth was the preface to the union of the polarities at Beltane.

Now, at the time of Beltane we can use this illumined awareness to enjoy the blessings of manifest form. We are lit deeply from within and the light of that will to passion attracts to itself whatever is the object of its desire. We love and dance as we engage all of our senses in the beauty that springs forth from every space of earthly delights. We move around the phallus of maypole in a state of excited vibration seeing creative potential opening just as the flowers adorning it open to take in more of sun’s strengthening light. We nestle into hollow of fertile earth, seeking it as our only clothing of adornment as we become enraptured in the scent and physicality of earth in another’s body. We bring to life the seeds of our creative efforts and offer space for growth. It is of no matter how that new life takes form; physical and spiritual are equally important as one feeds the other and desire takes hold that is primal in instinct and pure in intention towards life.

May the blessings of fertility and new creation fill your endeavors in the months ahead…

All Hail to Astrological Beltane and the Parting of the Veils of New Life!

A little background..

In many traditions the date of celebration for Beltane is May 1st and that of its counterpart, Samhain is Oct. 31 or Nov. 1. Although these dates have accumulated much astral energy from repeated use, if you wish to follow the astronomical approach, which is where the origins of the cross-quarter days lay, those dates are premature.

Beltane falls mid-point between the Vernal Equinox and the Summer Solstice. Each of the cross-quarter Sabbats – Beltane, Lammas, Samhain and Imbolc fall within that half way point between an Equinox and a Solstice. And, for those ancient practitioners who strongly followed the correlate of Solar tides, this placement provided very specific energy in relationship to the line of the Sun’s outpouring onto Earth, its placement during these times between and what was called into action in celebration, ritual and devotion.

If you look a bit closer at the timing of the astrological correlates and know, even a bit, about the energetics of the zodiacal signs as they move through the Solar Year, there is a wellspring of underlying meaning that can be drawn from as you open to new levels of connection that deeply inform how you construct your personal ritual or celebration of these cross-quarter days.
