Temple of the Cosmic Spheres

Full Moon in Capricorn – Sun in Cancer
June 28.2018
12:53a.m.

Seems as though everywhere you look, people are seeking balance. Balance in the personal; balance in the private; balance in the public and balance in the world! Now when I say balance, I don’t mean equanimity. Balance means compromise and finding just enough of something to weigh in and complete what has been lessened. I chose this perspective in working with this Full Moon.

Let’s start with a few astronomical details. When the Moon waxes Full, it is opposite in placement to the Sun on the astrological wheel. Traditionally this alignment, or opposition, is considered a place of tension between two conflicting energies. Tension is a good thing! Tension produces a new outcome from two things that act in friction with one another. It also requires us to stretch and grow in ways that may be uncomfortable for a space…

Solstice Light

I stand in a fragrant field
Bursting with Summer flowers
The heat of Father Sun pours
Down freely offering its gifts
Of sustaining powerful Light.

I stand in the pause of time
That has witnessed the seeding
Of Potential and the union of
Consummate creative action.

I stand at the crossroads of my
Path’s purpose ready to bloom
Fully in the light of day and
Fold inward as darkness falls
Sheltering what has endured
The full force of brilliant Light.

Golden blazing orb descends
Molten liquid red and orange
Shifting its palette as it sinks
Deeply into its space of rekindling.

And as the light of sunset retreats
The darkness moves in shadow
Drawing all thoughts inward
Blanketing me with the mantle
Of creation’s self-reflection.

The waning of the Light has begun
And with its advent comes the promise
Of Divine light burning brightly within
The cavernous space of Self I will walk
As the Hermit issues silent invitation.

Please enjoy the accompanying article and ritual:
Blessings of the Summer Solstice

Just because today is a new Moon in Gemini, an astrological sign where words get tangled in the web of communication and expression, I am sharing a writing about something that I keep returning to, unsettled and anxious about the reply….

…..Where Are You Going?

Such a simple question for an answer that is deep and complex. If you’d asked me that question last year I would have said, “I’m moving forward. I’m making progress in my endeavors and I am spending my time and energy wisely.” Very articulate statement and optimistic answer. Seems to be a straightforward and simple answer, but nothing could be further from the complexity of truth.

If you’d asked me the same question three months ago, I would have paused in my response, turning my thoughts to what I had perceived as growth and progress as I weighed and measured the validity of those statements made prior. Internally, I would allow space to think more deeply on the intricacies of the question. Let me chew and digest each word so that I can extract every bit of vital essence held in each letter of each word.

Where are you going?…. Take a breath, sit comfortably and let’s chow down…

Where is a marker of time and place; a location, or perhaps a destination. The mystery of where is all wrapped up in perception and identification. Where is neither past nor present and by default the future of a where is aptly determined by what has been experienced within the gift of spaciousness.

Are stimulates the knowledge and subtle awareness of existence. But, what state that existence resides within and what layer of consciousness awakens within that state of being is fulfilled by the ability to fully embody our presence in all of the worlds and all of the forms we move fluidly within. From this state of are the immanence of our Spirit evolves as co-creator.

You is such a recognizable word, defined by the recipient of its identification. You is filled with potential, but the limitation of that potential is in how closely we identify the you that takes on every form and attribution imaginable. Keyword – imagine – aka. envision. The power of vision is indisputable and the power of creative change is tightly interwoven into you. It begs to answer the questions……

Who are you?
What are you?
What more can you become?

Defining you is a labyrinth, a maze that you spend lifetimes analyzing and refining, all directed by the nuances of our perception at any given moment.

And, finally the goal of inquiry – Going – the punctuated ending of a question that in its simplicity unravels the threads of a tapestry that forms a piece of our over arching life story.

Going implies movement, towards or from a destination that becomes a “where”. What form does that movement take? Spinning wheels stuck in mud are movement, yet they remain for a time, within a perceived singular location of limitation. Going gives range and depth and a necessary spatial awareness of hope for what could be. Always a diversion from what is; the desire compelling “you” forward-backward-all ways and the intended goal digressing into and by necessity from the desperation felt- “anywhere, but here”.

So, today with the Moon waxing New in the inquisitive and talkative sign of Gemini, I ask myself…

Where Am I Going?

The answer is relatively simple…

I am going deeper into the moment, as I Am and without expectation!
